Temp mail for X (Twitter): sign up without your real email
X (formerly Twitter) lets you sign up with either an email or a phone number. If you'd rather not tie a new account to your real inbox — for a project account, a pseudonymous presence, or simply compartmentalization — a temporary email address covers the email path.
How to do it
- Open WebMailTemp and copy the address at the top of the page.
- On X's signup screen, choose to register with email and paste in the temporary address.
- X sends a verification code — it appears in your temp inbox within seconds. Enter it to continue.
The catch: phone verification
Be aware up front — X frequently asks new accounts for a phone number to fight spam and bots, sometimes immediately, sometimes after a little activity. A temporary email gets you past the email step, but it can't get you past a phone-verification wall. If X demands a phone number, no email trick will bypass it.
Keep the account recoverable
The free inbox lasts 30 minutes, so if you plan to keep the account, switch it to a permanent email in X's settings after signup, or use a Premium 30-day inbox. Don't rely on a 30-minute address as your only recovery route.
