Privacy Policy

WebMailTemp exists to protect your privacy, so this policy is short and honest. The summary: we store as close to nothing as a working service allows.

1. What we collect

• Temporary inbox contents. Emails sent to your temporary address are held in server memory only — never written to disk or a database — and are deleted automatically when your inbox expires (30 minutes) or when you delete it, whichever comes first.
• A session cookie. We set one functional cookie (burner_username) so your browser can access its own inbox. It expires with your inbox and identifies a random username, not you.
• Aggregate counters. We keep anonymous totals (number of addresses generated, emails processed). These contain no addresses, content, or identifiers.
• Standard server logs. Our hosting infrastructure may briefly log IP addresses and request paths for security and abuse prevention. Logs are not used for profiling and are rotated routinely.

2. What we never collect

• No account, name, phone number, or real email address — there is no registration.
• No message archives. When an inbox expires, its contents are unrecoverable, including by us.
• No sale or sharing of personal data with data brokers. Ever.

3. Local storage in your browser

If you use the Save feature, the saved message is stored in your browser's local storage, on your device. It never leaves your machine and we cannot access it. Your theme preference is stored the same way. Clearing your browser data removes both.

4. Advertising

The free service may display advertising. Ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies subject to their own policies; where required, you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set. Ads are never based on the contents of your temporary emails.

5. Email delivery provider

Inbound email is routed through an email infrastructure provider (e.g. Mailgun) before reaching our servers. Delivery providers process messages transiently to perform delivery, subject to their own privacy policies.

6. Data retention

Inbox lifetime is 30 minutes. Expired inboxes and their messages are purged from memory automatically. A server restart also clears all inboxes. We retain nothing that could reconstruct a past inbox.

7. Your rights

Because we hold no persistent personal data, most data-subject requests (access, deletion, portability) are satisfied by design: there is nothing to retrieve after expiry. For any privacy question, contact us at [email protected].
