Temp mail for Reddit: create an account without your real email
Reddit doesn't strictly require an email to register — but adding one is the only way to recover your account, and skipping it means one forgotten password ends the account for good. If you want the recovery safety net without tying your Reddit identity to your real inbox, a temporary email address is the middle path.
Why use a temp email for Reddit
- Compartmentalization — your Reddit activity (subreddits, comments, votes) stays unlinked from the address you use for banking and work.
- Alt accounts — a second account for a different community, kept cleanly separate.
- Avoiding profiling — Reddit has had breaches; a disposable address means a leaked email can't be joined back to your real identity.
How to do it

The one caveat that matters
The free inbox self-destructs after 30 minutes. That's fine for the initial verification, but it means the address won't exist later if Reddit emails you a password reset. Two safe options: verify with the temp address and then change your Reddit email to a permanent one in account settings once you're in, or use a Premium 30-day inbox if you want a longer window. Either way, don't rely on a 30-minute address as your only recovery route for an account you plan to keep.
Staying on the right side of the rules
Using a temporary email is fine on Reddit. Using alt accounts for vote manipulation, ban evasion, or spam is not — that's against Reddit's content policy regardless of what email you used. Keep it to legitimate privacy and organization.
